CALL FOR FULL-TIME CONSULTANT FOR THE PROJECT EXECUTING UNIT - POSITION: OPERATIONS OFFICER<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
  1. BACKGROUND <\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

    The Government of Suriname (GOS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) signed a loan on February 6, 2020, concerning the Foreign Investment and Export Promotion Program, Contract No: LO-4801\/OC-SU.\u00a0 The project general objective is to increase FDI inflows and to promote exports in non-extractive sectors through an operational Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (TIPA).<\/p>

    The specific objectives are to: (i) make the TIPA operational according to international standard practices; (ii) enhance awareness about Suriname\u00b4s branding to promote investment projects; and (iii) support exporters through advisory services.<\/p>

    To ensure the successful continuation of the program, an individual consultant is needed for the following full-time position:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    1. OPERATIONS OFFICER<\/strong>
    The Operations Officer (OO) will ensure the efficient and timely execution of the Program in coordination with the Suriname Investment and Trade Agency (SITA) team members, focusing on problem resolution, deliverables oversight, and operational coordination. The OO will act as a liaison between the Project Executing Unit (PEU) and SITA technical units, streamlining workflows, resolving bottlenecks, and reviewing deliverables for quality and compliance. The OO will assist the Program Manager in supervising consultancies, troubleshooting execution challenges, and ensuring alignment with program goals.<\/p>

    Qualification Requirements:<\/strong>
    – Bachelor\u2019s degree in Social Science, Business Administration or any other Managerial Science.
    – International Project Management Certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, PM4R) is an\u00a0added\u00a0advantage
    – Project Management experience of 5 years in the private sector or public sector
    – Experience of 5 years of program operations including administrative and financial management.
    – Experience in working with outputs and deliverables and programs funded by international organizations is an added value.
    – Experience in the monitoring and evaluation of development programs.
    – Ability to work with a team, analytical skills, willingness to get training and to transfer knowledge to others.
    – Ability to solve problems and provide solutions
    – Results-oriented and a sense of responsibility
    – Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate in both Dutch and English.
    – Applications: Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Planner or a similar task\/project management tool.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation invites eligible individuals to submit their motivation letter and Curriculum Vitae demonstrating their qualifications to perform the services by no later than July 3, 2025, 15.00 hours<\/strong> to the address or email provided below.<\/p>

    Applicants should clearly indicate the position they are applying for in the subject line of their email or on the envelope. The CV and motivation letter must provide information establishing that candidates are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.) and will be available on a full-time basis (40 hours per week). The working location is Paramaribo.<\/p>
